Originally
Swiss flagged, her first owner sailed Enki continuously from mid 2005 to 2010/11 when his five
year project came to a close. She sailed from Sweden
to Iceland, British Isles
and then some seasons in the Mediterranean.
From there she voyaged via Panama
to New Zealand and returned
to Europe via Cape Horn and the east coast of South
America.
We
purchased Enki in France in July 2011 for our own five year project.

The second autopilot drive unit is a Lewmar Mamba direct drive and is connected via draglink directly to the rudder stock. It is correctly sized for this purpose The primary autopilot drive is also a Mamba unit, but connected via draglink to the Mamba gearbox. This arrangement copes with any potential failure in either an autopilot course computer, a drive unit or gearbox, or the Lewmar Whitlock steering system itself.

Enki II is
currently in Auckland, New Zealand. She is complete with all the equipment and
spares commensurate with living aboard full time, being self sufficient and
undertaking the voyage from the Med to New Zealand. She has been carefully
looked after, continuously upgraded and added to during our ownership.
There are
countless spares and equipment on board that have not been listed in this
document. They are very extensive. From spare water pumps for engines and
generators, thermostats, oil filters, some 25 Racor fuel filters, to spare
fresh and salt water pumps, Raymarine instruments, electrical spares, globes
and fuses, cabling, Lewmar winch kits and spare rope clutches, blocks, ropes,
sheets and shackles, LPG hoses and regulators, oils and lubricants, watermaker
chemicals, numerous filters, toilet rebuild kits, other maintenance items etc
etc.
Invoices
and documentation since our purchase are all available to confirm our attention
to ENKI II during our ownership. There are instruction manuals for all on board
equipment. The blog too, written in real time over the past years, will confirm
what we all know about boats…….they are not perfect. They do require care and
attention at all levels and they reward you for that accordingly.
She is
truly a yacht that a knowledgeable cruiser could step aboard and begin his or her journey with great confidence in her condition.
